Today I’m showing off a few photos of flowers and flower beds, just to show the progression of things growing in my yard this spring.
First a look at the main flower bed, which houses irises, tulips, coneflowers, daisies, black-eyed Susans, snapdragons, and more….
March 16: It’s a total mess, and the last bit of snow still lingers.
March 27: Mess cleaned out. Lots of bare soil and stubby green things.
April 10: A little more green, a little less brown.
April 23: Lots of green, and the first tulip opens up.
Moving on to the front corner flower bed, where the large red poppies will bloom in May….
March 27: A big mess.
April 10: Starting to clean up the mess.
April 15: Things are cleaned up and thinned out. I also ripped out the mint, or at least tried to.
April 20: Daffodils, hyacinths, and some purple cone shaped things I don’t know the name of are all blooming.
Only a few more weeks until the bright red poppies and the purple irises are on display in the next round of blooms in my flower beds. I can’t wait!
